Educating Yorkshire at Sheffield Documentary Festival

Last month, Twofour brought Educating Yorkshire to Sheffield DocFest for a special behind-the-scenes celebration of the much-loved series. 

Hosted by BBC Radio Sheffield presenter Sile Sibanda and speaking to a packed audience at the Montgomery Theatre, Chief Creative Officer David Clews and Executive Producer Grace Reynolds were joined by Thornhill Community Academy headteacher Matthew Burton, student manager Annie Nurse, and pupils Ismaeel and Alexa. 

With brilliant clips, plenty of laughs and some wonderfully honest moments from the pupils, the panel looked back at the creation and lasting impact of the Educating brand, how the school and the series have changed over the past decade, and the care that goes into capturing real life in the classroom. 

The session landed brilliantly and was a fantastic reminder of everything that makes Educating Yorkshire so special.
