But modern brass banding is much more than just genteel nostalgia: it’s as fiercely competitive as the toughest of sports. This series tells the story of some of Britain’s most famous, elite, and demanding bands and follows the dedicated amateur musicians as they do battle across a season of hard-fought contests in the country’s most iconic venues.
